ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Two people are dead after a shooting involving officers at an Alexandria apartment complex early Monday.

Alexandria Police Department officers responded to the area of 27 Canterbury Square, near the Hallmark Condominiums, for a report of a woman shot around 4 a.m.
When officers arrived, they said a man had barricaded himself in a room in an apartment where they believed the wounded woman was, according to Alexandria Police Chief Tarrick McGuire.
