Man accused of violent Prince George’s County crime spree had been convicted for a 1983 homicide

Larry James Simpson, 68, of Glen Burnie is facing 66 charges after he allegedly opened fire on people and carjacked drivers in five locations.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A Glen Burnie man accused of a violent crime spree in the northern part of Prince George’s County was previously convicted of a 1983 homicide.

Larry Simpson, 68, was convicted in 1986 for a homicide that happened in the city of Beltsville. Court records indicate that Simpson shot and killed a 21-year-old man.

In 1987, Simpson was sentenced to life in prison plus 40 years.
