India squad for Afghanistan series: Rishabh Pant loses Test vice-captaincy, ODI spot

MUMBAI: Out-of-form wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was on Tuesday stripped of the Test vice-captaincy for India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan, with opener KL Rahul elevated to the role in his place. Pant was also dropped from India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against Afghanistan in June.

As expected, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been rested from both the Test and ODI assignments as part of workload management by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee, which picked the squads in Guwahati on Tuesday. Senior allrounder Ravindra Jadeja too has been rested from both squads
