DCPS Chancellor leaving at end of school year

WASHINGTON — The longest-serving chancellor in DC Public Schools’ history will be leaving at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.

Dr. Lewis D. Ferebee was hired by Mayor Muriel Bowser in 2018. On Wednesday, WUSA9 learned Ferebee will be leaving at the end of the school year, coinciding with Bowser’s decision not to seek reelection.
