Eagles rescued from Loudoun County landfill

LEESBURG, Va. — Two young bald eagles have taken to the skies once again after veterinarians in Loudoun County rescued them from a landfill earlier this week.

Blue Ridge Wildlife Center treated the two birds when they were found in distress. Both of the eagles showed signs of lethargy and ataxia. Dr. Jen Riley initially suspected lead poisoning, but the bird’s lead levels were too low to cause signs so severe.
