Man arrested for Laurel stabbing, police still searching for shooter in unrelated case

Three people were shot and two more were stabbed in unrelated crimes during a Cinco de Mayo celebration

LAUREL, Md. — A Maryland man has been arrested after a stabbing at a Cinco de Mayo celebration at a Laurel shopping center Tuesday night.

Shon Juan Cook Jr., 26, of Howard County, was accused of a domestic-related stabbing around 10 p.m. at Amigos Mexican Grill in the Centre at Laurel, police said.

The stabbing was unrelated to the shooting near Longhorn Steakhouse around the same time on Tuesday, according to the Laurel Police Department (LPD).
