WASHINGTON — DC Fire and EMS have knocked down a large fire that engulfed a boat in Southwest DC early Thursday.
Officials first reported the blaze around 5:15 a.m. at 2100 2nd St SW. Crews on land and two fireboats responded to the James Creek Marina, in Buzzard Point, and extinguished the flames by 5:40 a.m.
There were no reported injuries, but there was damage to boats on both sides of the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
