Northwestern kicker/punter Luke Akers, the son of legendary Eagles specialist David Akers, has accepted a rookie minicamp invite with Philadelphia.

Akers, who went undrafted, will also attend the Chicago Bears’ rookie minicamp.
Akers is trying to catch on in the NFL as either a punter or a kicker.
Akers was a three-year starting punter at Northwestern after spending two seasons at UCLA. He averaged 42.9 yards per punt on 180 attempts in his six-year collegiate career.
