WASHINGTON — On Monday, Virginia’s Supreme Court began officially hearing cases for and against redistricting in the commonwealth.
Earlier this month, voters supported a referendum that would redraw Virginia’s 11 congressional districts, possibly giving Democrats a 10-to-one advantage in the U.S. House of Representatives. A day later, Judge Jack Hurley of Tazewell County Circuit Court declared all the votes ineffective.
