Overturned tractor trailer shuts down lanes of I-270 South in Frederick

Maryland State Police say the truck driver was trying to avoid a deer, resulting in the single-vehicle crash.

FREDERICK, Md. — A crash involving an overturned tractor trailer is slowing the morning commute in Frederick. All southbound lanes of Interstate 270 are closed to traffic due to the investigation and clean-up efforts.

The crash has shut down I-270 South between Maryland Route 80/Exit 26 (Fingerboard Road) and Maryland 109/Exit 22 (Old Hundred Road) in Frederick County causing a major traffic headache. Officials report vehicles are being diverted onto Fingerboard Road to get around the crash scene.
