FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A woman is in custody for assaulting a school resource officer (SRO) while allegedly being intoxicated on school grounds, according to police.
On Friday, Corene Jones, 32, arrived at Spotswood Elementary School trying to register a new student. The office staff asked the SRO to assist with Jones. The SRO asked Jones to step out of the front office area.
