MOOSIC, PA(WBRE/WYOU)— The RailRiders first place push is much in thanks to the MiLB International League Player of the Week Anthony Volpe leading off its lineup. Volpe won the weekly award after a stellar series against the Worcester Red Sox.
Volpe finished the week 11 of 21 from the plate, hitting .524 against Worcester. The RailRiders infielder hit three doubles, and three home runs in six games. Volpe drove in six runs and scored eight times of his own. He stole five bags over the six-game set, on top of three base on balls.
