Oklahoma added a name that will be familiar to many to its coaching staff in the offseason: former Dallas Cowboys and future Hall of Famer Jason Witten.
The Sooners’ game against UTEP marked his first game as the Sooners’ new tight ends coach after being hired in January. The 44-year-old had been the head coach for five years at Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas, not far from the Metroplex. He was a two-time All Pro for the Dallas Cowboys and an 11-time Pro Bowler.
He retired from playing after the 2020 season.
