Maryland trooper hospitalized after SUV runs stoplight and hits police cruiser

A passenger of the Hummer, accused of hitting the trooper, was also injured.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — A Maryland State trooper was injured after an SUV ran a red light in Hagerstown on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The crash happened at the Maugans Avenue and Crayton Boulevard intersection around 10 a.m., according to the Maryland State Police (MSP) Hagerstown Barrack. 

The injured trooper was going through a green light when a Hummer driver did not stop at a red light and hit the trooper’s car, according to MSP.
