WASHINGTON — The National Zoo is welcoming a baby porcupine.
The new porcupette is the fourth child of Beatrix and Quillbur, after siblings Quillow, born 2023, Fofo, born 2022, and Quilliam, born 2019. Zookeepers said the baby appears healthy and strong, and is bonded with mom Beatrix.
Visitors can see the porcupette on exhibit now at the National Zoo. Head to the Small Mammal House to check out the family of prehensile-tailed porcupines.
