‘Parents need to do their job and show up’ | Low turnout at Loudoun County fentanyl awareness event despite recent student overdoses

Fairfax County parents who lost their son to a fentanyl overdose shared their story as a warning to other parents.

LEESBURG, Va. — Three and a half years after losing their son to fentanyl poisoning, Sean and Afrodita Foster say the grief still feels unreal.

“You wake up every morning and have to remember that this is reality all over again,” Sean Foster said.

“Our lives changed that day forever,” Afrodita Foster said. “The life that we knew, we’re not living anymore.”

The 18 year old Centreville High School senior died Jan. 30,
