MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Montgomery County Public Schools could eliminate about 425 full-time positions after the County Council approved a budget that leaves the school system with a $36 million funding gap.

Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Taylor said June 4 is the deadline to submit a plan for the newly approved budget, which will determine which positions are ultimately cut or retained.
