Crews rescue person, dog while extinguishing two-alarm blaze in McLean

One person was injured and a dog was rescued in the Friday morning fire.

MCLEAN, Va. — Crews from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue braved heavy smoke and fire to rescue a person and their dog while extinguishing a two-alarm blaze in McLean.

Officials were called to the 900 block of Turkey Run Road just before 1 a.m. on Friday for reports of a fire and an occupant trapped on the second floor of a large single-family home. When crews arrived, a second alarm was struck due to the size of the home and the blaze.
