WASHINGTON — Homelessness is up in D.C. with an overall 4.4% increase since 2025, according to officials.
Homelessness for unaccompanied people and those between 18-years-old and 24-years-old stayed mostly the same. But, homelessness among families increased 15.8%, according to the D.C. Department of Human Services (DDHS) Point-In-Time (PIT) Count.
Compared to pre-pandemic numbers, homelessness is down 16% from 2020. Family homelessness is down 54.8% compared to 2015.
