WASHINGTON — Residents in Ward 5 of the river will soon lose another grocery store and pharmacy. On Friday, officials announced the Safeway located on Maryland Ave, NE, will soon be closing.
In a statement, a spokesperson said the grocery store at 601 Maryland Ave, NE, will close no later than May 16. However, the pharmacy will close on April 1.
