LAUREL, Md. — Two recent fights at Laurel High School that prompted police responses are renewing concerns among some parents and community members about student safety inside Prince George’s County schools.

According to Prince George’s County Public Schools, the incidents happened earlier this month and resulted in several student suspensions.

School officials said the first fight occurred May 1 in the school cafeteria. A school resource officer requested assistance from Prince George’s County police.
