WASHINGTON — A teenage boy was found semi-conscious and breathing after being shot Thursday evening near H.D. Woodson High School.

Police were called to the 5300 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave, Northeast, just before 5:15 p.m. When they arrived, police found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound.
The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving measures, the teen succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
