Gein — known as the Butcher of Plainfield — shocked the nation in 1957 when he was arrested in his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin for the murder of hardware store owner Bernice Worden. Horrifyingly, police discovered Worden’s decapitated and mutilated body hanging upside down in a shed on Gein’s property.
