Mortgage and refinance interest rates today, April 7, 2026: A couple of steps lower

Mortgage rates stepped lower again today. According to Zillow, the average 30-year fixed rate is now 6.20%, down two basis points. That’s down more than a quarter point from the recent high set near the end of March. The 15-year loan is lower by five basis points to 5.67%.

Here are the current mortgage rates, according to our latest Zillow data:

30-year fixed: 6.20%

20-year fixed: 6.13%

15-year fixed: 5.67%

5/1 ARM: 6.31%

7/1 ARM: 6.16%

30-year VA: 5.85%
