Fort Defiance’s Henley Ann Coffman won the Shenandoah District girls cross country championship. The junior ran a 19:43.71 to edge Alleghany’s Faith Barron.
“My strategy going into it was to run my race and hopefully lead,” Coffman said. “It wasn’t my best race ever but I led the whole time so I’m proud of that. It means a lot. I’ve put in a lot of work so it’s nice to see it pay off.”
