Lots to cheer about at Astoria high school
Donna Murdock remembers being a shy and reserved kid. Though she was a competitive gymnast growing up, she said it was only through cheerleading that she developed the confidence to be bold in front of a crowd.

Murdock is the cheerleading coach at Astoria high school.
“This is my first year coaching cheerleading,” Murdock said. “I am enjoying every second I have with this amazing squad. I am learning right alongside these incredible athletes.”
Murdock said she is trying to create an environment where each member of the squad feels comfortable, confident and loved.
