Sheffield United CEO Stephen Bettis says the club’s owners have been advised they should avoid an automatic 12-point deduction, although he accepts the risk of sanctions has not disappeared.
The EFL is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the winding-up order against COH Sports Bidco, the company previously used by owners Steve Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy to acquire the Blades.

Bettis said the key point from the owners’ perspective is that the company was no longer part of the Sheffield United group when the winding-up order was made.
