ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Friday’s workout day had ended, and Aaron Judge walked into the visiting manager’s office at Tropicana Field.
The Yankees’ captain was accompanied by Mike Schuk, the team’s director of sports medicine and rehab, and the subject was Judge’s strained right calf.

Judge “wanted to be on” the best-of-five AL Division Series roster and was “willing to do anything” to achieve that end, according to manager Aaron Boone.
“I told him I was going to think on it for an hour and make a decision,” said Boone, who ultimately decided not to include his three-time MVP slugger.
