Georgia confirms D-lineman who started down stretch in 2025 off team

A Georgia football defensive lineman who started the final six games last season is no longer with the program.

Xzavier McLeod is off the team, a team spokesman confirmed to the Athens Banner-Herald Monday afternoon Aug. 31.

The news comes five days before the No. 3 Bulldogs open the season against Tennessee State.

McLeod, a transfer from South Carolina who was starting his fourth season of college football, has 30 tackles in two seasons for the Bulldogs, playing 29 games.
