North Carolina GM Michael Lombardi placed on administrative leave

Michael Lombardi won three Super Bowls over a career spanning three decades in the NFL so there was hope in Chapel Hill that he and Bill Belichick could team up to bring the North Carolina football program back to prominence. Since taking on the general manager position back in December 2024, things have not gone as expected as the Tar Heels limped to a 4-8 record and went 2-6 in the ACC last season. The amount of headlines and sideshows have far exceeded victories and it appears there’s another developing situation that could provide a speed bump on the road
