The Wisconsin Badgers rowing program gained more international recognition this week as former lightweight standout Claire Friedlander was named to the U.S. team for the 2026 World Championships in Amsterdam.
Friedlander will compete in the lightweight women’s single sculls from August 24 to 30, putting another Badger in the global spotlight.

The Philadelphia native earned her place by winning the lightweight women’s single sculls trial at Mercer Lake in New Jersey with a time of 7:51.81. This win was important because it returned her to an event where Wisconsin fans already knew her as a reliable and accomplished member of the team
