Which sports were cut from Commonwealth Games 2026?

The Commonwealth Games takes place in Glasgow, but featuring a slimmed-down programme of events. Glasgow stepped in as hosts after the Australian state of Victoria backed out three years ago, due to the rising cost of hosting the Games.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham featured 19 sports but the programme has been reduced to 10 in Glasgow – with six featuring integrated para-sports.

The Glasgow list includes: 3×3 basketball and 3×3 wheelchair basketball, artistic gymnastics, athletics and para athletics (track & field), bowls and para bowls, boxing, cycling track and para cycling track, judo, netball, swimming and para swimming, and weightlifting
