Former Texas A&M linebacker Keith Mitchell, a cornerstone of the famed Wrecking Crew defense and one of the most productive pass rushers in program history, has passed away at the age of 51.
Mitchell starred for the Aggies from 1993–96, emerging as one of the most feared edge defenders in college football. Across his final two seasons, he terrorized opposing quarterbacks, finishing his senior year with 14.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. His dominant play earned him All-American honors from The Sporting News and College Football News, along with *MVP recognition in the Aggies’ Alamo Bowl victory.
