Mets’ Juan Soto exits game with injury in potential catastrophe

NEW YORK — The Mets were hit with what could be a catastrophic blow during their series opener against the Cubs on Tuesday night.

Star outfielder Juan Soto was removed from the game after four innings with what the Mets later called left side back tightness.

Replays from Soto’s two at-bats in the early innings showed the lefty grimace while swinging multiple times.
