After attending Iowa‘s Hawkeye Tailgater event this past week, the program offered 2028 offensive lineman James Barrett, who is the son of Offensive Line coach George Barnett.
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound lineman from Iowa City West High School in Iowa City, Iowa, serves as the team’s center.

Along with Iowa, Barnett currently has two other offers, including Miami (Ohio) and FCS-level South Dakota.
As a sophomore, Barnett helped lead the Trojans to an 8-3 record, including an appearance in the 5A playoffs. He posted 16 tackles, according to Bound.
