Jalen Brunson had the coldest response after proving Becky Hammon’s theory wrong

Becky Hammon wasn’t the first or last person to say a small guard can’t be the best player on an NBA championship team. But she certainly became the face of that theory back in 2023 after dismissing Jalen Brunson as a “1A dude” capable of leading the New York Knicks to a title.

So, when Brunson was asked about that very topic after clinching the title and finals MVP for the Knicks on Saturday, it wasn’t a secret who he was being asked about: “What’s your message for people saying that you’re not a 1A guy?” the reporter asked.
