A.J. Brown chose the No. 1 jersey out of respect for New England Patriots legend Julian Edelman, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
The three-time All-Pro wide receiver grew up a fan of the Patriots and Edelman. Despite being granted Edelman’s blessing to wear the No. 11 jersey, Brown instead chose to wear the same number that he wore in college for his first year with the Patriots.
