Sioux Falls Christian’s Ellie Maddox and Halle Braun are best friends, about to go very separate ways to pursue Division I track careers.
But first, the duo needed to dominate their final South Dakota state track meet.

Maddox won the girls Class A 800-meter, 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races, setting meet records in all three events. Braun took first in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash, also setting meet and state records and winning two all-class gold medals.
Then, they got to be the final two legs of the Class A-winning 4×400-meter relay team that closed their careers, along with fellow seniors
