The major role of D.C.’s delegate is to advocate for the District in Congress.
WASHINGTON — D.C.’s primaries are just three weeks away, and one of the races on ballots this June is for D.C. delegate.
Five people are vying for D.C.’s one non-voting delegate seat in Congress. They’re running to replace Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, who has held the position since 1991. She’s stepping down at the end of her 18th term this year, leaving room for a new generation to represent the District in Congress.
