CHEVY CHASE, Md. — Maryland Route 355 northbound is shut down while crews work to clear a utility pole that was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning.

Montgomery County Police have not said what caused the car to hit the pole, nor have they indicated how long the street will be closed.
They’re telling drivers to avoid the area for the time being.
