Mayor Bowser unsure MPD has resources to prosecute parents of minors in ‘teen takeovers’

US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro says she will prosecute parents whose children are involved in teen takeover incidents and slammed DC council for lack of action.

WASHINGTON — US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro announced Friday that her office will begin prosecuting parents of minors involved in so-called “teen takeovers” across the District, saying some could face criminal charges if they fail to prevent their children from participating.

Pirro said parents could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is a misdemeanor offense that carries a penalty of up to six months
