From “The Godfather” To “Heat,” Here Are 5 Of The Best Crime Movies Everyone Should Watch At Least Once

Based on the novel by Mario Puzo, The Godfather is one of the most beloved movies of all time and is the first installment in a trilogy. It chronicles the Corleone family, namely under patriarch Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando). It follows the transformation of his youngest son, Michael (Al Pacino), from a reluctant outsider in this family into a ruthless mafia boss. At the 45th Academy Awards in 1973, it was nominated for 10 awards, winning Best Picture, Best Actor for Brando (which he notably declined), and Best Adapted Screenplay.
