Elly De La Cruz, Reds not talking extension right now, says Jim Bowden

As The Enquirer reported Monday, May 11, Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz had dinner with his agent Scott Boras.

The menu at Jeff Ruby’s read, “Welcome back to Cincinnati, Scott Boras!”

De La Cruz, 24, makes $800,000 on his current contract and is under Cincinnati Reds control until 2029 and not arbitration-eligible until 2027. Earlier this year, he rejected a contract extension.
