WASHINGTON — Firefighters say a small electrical fire has damaged a church with a long history in the District.
Crews were first called to St. Dominic’s Catholic Church near the intersection of 6th Street and E Street Southwest for a fire alarm around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Once there, firefighters saw flames and smoke coming from the church’s second floor.
Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control before it spread or damaged the church further.
