Evening commuters in D.C. face delays as the southbound 3rd St Tunnel entrance was closed due to debris, with officials urging drivers to find alternate routes.
WASHINGTON — The Monday evening commute could shape up to be a nightmare in D.C. The entrance to the 3rd St Tunnel was temporarily closed. As of 4:30 p.m., all lanes were temporarily reopened.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, there was a large amount of debris and dirt on the road. Crews with the Department of Public Works were on the scene working to clean up the mess.
