Charles County Public Schools is proposing boosting security with AI gun-detection measures after recent gun incidents at St. Charles High School.
CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — Following multiple gun-related incidents at Charles County Public Schools, officials announced they will be expanding gun detection and security measures. The security boost will include Saint Charles High School.
During a virtual town hall on Wednesday evening, Superintendent Maria Navarro said the district will deploy AI gun-detection technology at Saint Charles within the next few weeks. Officials will also push for county funding to expand this technology across all high schools.
