HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Residents at a Hagerstown apartment complex say they spent more than a week without gas or hot water before returning home Monday to find condemnation notices posted on their doors.

The City of Hagerstown condemned the Long Meadow Apartments building this week, calling it “dangerous and unsafe” after officials said the property owner failed to pay a debt to Columbia Gas on time.
