Cherie DeVaux became the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby when her Golden Tempo won the Run for the Roses Saturday. Jose Ortiz was the jockey.
During comments right after the race, DeVaux was overwhelmingly happy.

“I honestly don’t know, I’m just glad I could be a representative of all women everywhere that we can do anything we set our minds to,” DeVaux said.
