Montgomery County joins several Maryland municipalities in banning the controversial practice.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — ICE agents targeting immigrants and others operating in Montgomery County will now have to risk revealing their identities to the public.
The county council on Tuesday unanimously passed legislation banning the infamous gaiters associated Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers.
The ICE website explains that agents are encouraged to wear masks in order to protect them from “doxing” — a practice that involves revealing identities and other personal information associated with people trying to protect their anonymity.
