Giancarlo Stanton gives update on calf, Yankees make roster moves

HOUSTON — The day after a frustrating scare, the Yankees and Giancarlo Stanton planned to wait a little longer to see how his sore right calf feels before deciding whether he’ll be placed on the 10-day injured list.

“I feel better than yesterday,” Stanton said prior to Saturday night’s Yankees-Astros game at Daikin Park. “I don’t have too much for you guys. I felt it in between first and second base. Yeah, I feel better than yesterday, but I’m going to get to 24 hours or maybe (Sunday) to see where we’re at and then decide what to do.”
